Forbidden Beauty

A voice of an old witch speaking...

“There was this beautiful girl; she was different from everyone…”

(Scenery shows)

A young girl walking alone, being stared by the people… Her face was unknown. It was forbidden to see… She sat down at the playground, alone… crying… She hated the world so much…

“Those who broke a heart… Dies” She whispered.


Chapter 1: Traumatized

[At Shouji high]

“Hey… Have you seen Mari?” A girl asked while she was talking to a friend.

“Well I’ve seen her earlier with Shinn… Those two were really getting into this” Yina responded.

“I can’t believe that they are actually taking this bet seriously!” Another girl replied.

“Well Rita why don’t you try calling her?” Yina said.

“I can’t…” Rita said while her head is shooked down.

“Why what happened?”

“Last week we went to an arcade where we usually hang out after class and I kind of told her about the bet” Rita said with her face looked so sad… It was the last time Mari went out with her as best friends.

“You told her what!?” Dina said shockingly.

“This is supposed to be our secret! Aren’t you glad that Mari finally got a boyfriend!?” Yina said.

“Don’t tell me you’re being jealous!?” Dina added.

“It’s not like that… ” Rita explained.

“I HATE YOU RITA! You’re such a Killjoy! So that’s why Mari’s also avoiding us!” Yina said.

“You don’t understand me! Mari and I were best friends ever since kindergarten!”

“See? If you’re really her best friend you will allow her to be happy!”

“OKAY! I admit it! I AM JEALOUS! ...”

-The three went silence for a while-

Rita continued… “Ever since she met Shinn All she talks about is Shinn! All she cares about is Shinn... How about me!? She never got the time to talk and hang out with me! Had she forgotten that I am her best friend!? You guys won’t understand me! YOU WON’T!” Then Rita ran out from the two…

-The next day-

“So she was absent… “Yina said.

“I was kind of feeling sorry for her… after knowing that she was jealous of Shinn after all” Dina said.

“Yeah me too… I pity her so badly…” Yina said.

“Let’s apologize to her”

“Yes we should…”

[Meanwhile]

-At Yosimura residence-

“…I can’t believe a guy ended our friendship.” Rita said while looking at their (Rita and Mari) picture when they were kindergarten.

-Someone knocks on door-

“Rita! It’s me… Mari.”

Rita saying on her mind “Mari? Why is she suddenly going here at my place?”

“Rita!? Rita!? Are you there? ... Rita I know you’re mad at me… but I… I’m really sorry…”

“….I should’ve listened to you…”

“Rita… please help me… I don’t know what to do…”

Mari noticed that the door was open so she came in… She went directly to Rita’s room.

“…Mari...”

“Rita… I… So… sor… ry…”

Mari burst out in tears.  Rita hugged her and tried to comfort her.

“Mari… what happened?”

“Sh-Shinn… I s-saw… h-him… with another… g-girl…”  

“WHAT!?”

“He was lying to me Rita… he said I’m the only girl he loved! I… I’m really sorry… I should have believed you… Please I know it was my fault… I’m really sorry Rita!”

“It’s okay Mari! I forgive you… You know that no matter what happens, you will still be my best friend… You know what? Let’s forget about these and try to focus on you more… Are you alright Rita?”

“Mari… I loved him so much! I… this pain… it kills me… Why!? I trusted him so much Rita!  … I can’t take this anymore… I HATE HIM! I HATE HIM! Rita! Rita! I wish he dies Rita! ... It really hurts! SO MUCH! ”

“Don’t worry Mari… I will revenge you!” Rita said confidently.

Rita actually knows what she will do next; she heard rumors about the cursed girl who takes revenge for all the heartbroken girls. Does that girl really exist? She was about to find out…

…The next day, Rita went to a place called Shintou somewhere near Shibuya… It was a place different from others… it was said that it’s a “witch’s village” that’s why no one actually wanted to live there… Not popularly known to many, there is a well at the center of Shintou…

“So it’s true…? There really is a well here in Shintou…” Rita said to herself with assurance.

Rita looked around… She stared at the well for some time… then she noticed a note … it seems to lose its color and the paper is almost torn out, the ink was barely unreadable…


I the cursed girl will take revenge for you… if you are willing to…

~ Take a piece of paper; write the name of the person you want to take revenge on, then cover it with a plastic, Throw it at the well, Do not forget to write your name in it. If it reaches me, I assure you two days. However I will take your heart’s soul. You can never feel the feeling of love anymore.

Think about this. If you decided to back up, your memories of this place will be gone.

Rita, still shocked after reading the note, decided that she will not back up no matter what… She hated guys ever since anyway… So it will not be her lost if her heart’s soul will be taken away from her. So Rita took out her pen and a piece of paper from her bag and started to write the name of “Shinn Rokewi” and included hers too “Rita Yuu.”

“I reached this far… I won’t back down now… but… I will lose my heart’s soul… HAHAHA!! I don’t care... I don’t need love! Especially not from guys!  Fye is the only guy I loved… but he doesn’t even know I exist! So then… what’s the point of having to feel love anyway?” Rita said to her mind.

Rita after throwing the paper covered with a plastic went home immediately.

The following day…

[At Shouji high]

“Rita! Rita!”

“Yina… Dina … what’s up?” Rita asked.

“Well I heard about what happened to Mari…” Yina said.

“…and were terribly sorry…” Dina added.

“So you did huh?”

“Were really sorry Rita… It’s our fault to begin with…” Yina said.

“Well I’m glad you realize…” Rita said.

“Oh, by the way where is Mari-san?” Dina noticed.

“Yesterday she went to our house, she was crying so much… then she fell asleep; I decided not to wake her up… besides her eyes are really exhausted from all that crying.” Rita explained.

“Oh I see… hmm… I saw a really pretty girl this morning… it’s the first time I saw someone as pretty as that.” Yina said.

“Yeah… she’s a transferee right? She’s really an attention grabber… when she walked from the campus every one was staring at her…” Dina added.

“Yes especially the guys… I wonder who that girl is.” Yina said.

“I see… I shall see this girl myself …” Rita said.

Rita already had an idea that it might be the ‘cursed girl’ from the well; she has an ability to transfer to an ‘ideal girl’ of a certain guy… So Rita thinked of maybe, the girl was the ideal girl of Shinn.

The bell rang and Yina, Dina and Rita went back to their respective classrooms.

“So it is her. She’s even at the same class as Shinn’s; of course it is her… Shinn is obviously fantasizing about her.” Rita said to her mind.

[Break time]

Rita was walking alone at the hallway then suddenly someone called her name

“Rita… “

“…yes? Who’s calling me…?”

“It is I, Ma-roon… tell me are you Rita Yuu?”

“Yes that’s me… who are you!? Show yourself to me!”

“You called for me… I am the cursed girl of love who takes revenge for the broken hearted girls…”

“So… you’re here! Show yourself to me…!”

Ma-roon showed herself (of course her looks are the ideal girl of Shinn whom he pictured in his mind)

“Your… your so...pretty!!!”

“This is the look created by Shinn… I’m just a product of his imagination …this is not the real me… Oh and while I’m here… my name is Lily.”

“I see… so you said there’ll only be two days for this… right?”

“Yes and this is the first day…”

“So… tomorrow… I’ll lose my heart’s soul?”

“Yes of course… I’ll take it whether you like it or not… it’s our agreement”

“I know… I’m sure about this! Just take that revenge for me!”

“Don’t worry… I’ll deliver his body to you.”

“Body!? What body!?”

“I’ll be taking his soul… He shall die tomorrow…”

“Die? Death?  ….we haven’t agreed on such thing!”

“…Those who break a heart….dies”

Rita was shocked upon hearing these words…especially this girl’s voice… it scares her. Rita doesn’t know that Shinn will die because of her request… She was frightened. She was speechless…

“Well if you’ll excuse me, I have a business to do…” Ma-roon said.

Ma-roon head to the school gym… She already knows that Shinn would be there… and so she waited outside at the school garden… She knows that Shinn likes to go there after basketball practice.

[Meanwhile (at school gym)}

“Hey Shinn have you seen that new girl in school?” Ken asked Shinn.

“Yes… I’ve seen her… She’s really my type you know? I never taught she exists in this world! I’ve dreamed about her always… Since this morning I was hoping to talk to her… but then … whenever I’m near her… I’m getting really nervous!” Shinn replied.

“Wow… this is the first time I’ve seen you very interested and serious about a girl.”

“…She’s different… her pretty eyes… and that smile of hers… She’s totally different from other girls!”

[Later]

After the practice, Shinn went to the garden as he always does… He was so shocked of seeing the pretty girl at the garden… She was like a fairy… her smile… it can make any guy fall for her… He stopped for a while… watching the girl dances with the butterflies with colorful flowers all around her… It was just like a dream… when suddenly the girl noticed that someone was looking at her… She stopped.

“Oh! I’m so… sorry! I didn’t mean to…” Shinn explained.

“It’s okay… Do you like flowers too…?” The pretty girl asked.

“Well… you can say that…” Shinn replied.

“Wow! Cool! It’s very unusual for guys to like flowers! I hate that … I mean they are always denying the fact that they adore flowers! “

“Well flowers are beautiful… just like you…”

“Huh? What did you say?”

“Oh it’s nothing…”

“I see… You know what?”

“What?”

“You’re the first one who actually talked to me at this school!”

“Me? Impossible, with that prettiness of yours anyone would do anything just to talk to you.”

“No, it’s true…”

“I see… well I’m not like them!”

The girl smiled at Shinn

“My name is Lily …and you are?” (Ma-roon’s obviously lying about her name)

“Lily… you name is really beautiful… like the flower Lily… well my name is Shinn”

“Yours is nice too!”

“I see! So Lily what puts you in this school?”

“Well it’s just temporary… I need to conduct a research here.”

“Oh I see… “Shinn felt disappointed.

“Don’t worry Shinn since you’re the only friend I have here! I’ll make you happy while I can!”


“I see! I’m really happy to hear that Lily! I really am!”

“Well… the truth is Shinn… I’ve always seen you here before… staring at this beautiful garden …I’ve always waiting for this moment… to talk to you…” Lily blushed.

“REALLY!? I can’t believe this! It’s like a dream!”

“You see… I’ve always taught that you’re the perfect prince… the one I dreamed about… You keep appearing on my dreams… then suddenly …at this very garden… I saw you… at first I’d rather not to believe it… but my feelings overpowered me… Now I’m here…”

“I… dreamed of you always too Lily! Oh my God! I can’t believe this… so the research thing is not true then?”

“Yes it’s not… the main reason I’m here… is that I want to…”

“What is it? I’ll do anything for you Lily!”

“…Can you… dance with me…?”

“Yes of course!”

The two started to dance… until it was midnight …Shinn was falling deeply in love with Lily… He cherished every moment… and it was his first time to feel true love… He was so thankful to this girl… The truth is he never wanted to break a girl’s heart… He wanted them to make happy…tried and tried… It was hard for his part too… Because his not happy… Imagine being committed to someone you don’t really like? It was his first time to feel really happy …but it was too late, Ma-roon is a numb girl, she never fell in love with her victims… She’ll kill this guy for sure.

[The next day]

“Rita! I saw Fye earlier this morning!” Dina said.

“I see… so he finally decided to go to school… haha!” Rita said.

“Don’t you want to see him?” Yina asked.
“Why should I bother? He never knows I existed in this school.” Rita said.

“Aww… well at least you know that he’s not at the hospital anymore!” Dina said.

“I don’t care about him anymore! Sooner or later I’ll loose my heart’s soul…” Rita said.

“Huh? What are you saying Rita?” Yina asked.

“It’s nothing, never mind.  I should be going back to class now… Mari’s waiting for me.”

“Gees… Rita really is getting weird…” Dina said.

“Yes indeed… I wonder what happened…” Yina said.

[At class]

“Hey why are you sad Mari?” Rita asked.

“Well… there’s this pretty girl at Shinn’s class… I’ve seen them together early this morning… is she his new girlfriend?” Mari asked.

“Her name is Lily… trust me she’s nice…” Rita said.

“Well what about the girl who came after me and before that Lily girl?”

“He dumped her.”

“I see… but this Lily girl… she’s too far from us… She’s so pretty… haha!”

“Mari… just trust me Lily is really nice.”

“I see… Oh! Rita! A while ago Fye came here and asked for you!”

“Me? Huh? Why?”

“I don’t know... try seeing him.”

“So… he knows me?”

“Hmm… I think so… he’s looking for you …”

“Well it may not be me… I’m not the only one whose name is Rita…”

“Yes but earlier today he asked for “Rita Yuu” and the only one I know with that name is you!”

“I see… I wonder why… hmm… I should go and talk to him”

5 minutes before the break ends, Rita decided to go to Fye’s classroom

“Fye?” Rita asked.

“Rita… I’ve been looking everywhere for you!”

“You… know me?”

“Hmm... Of course! I remember you were the one who’s always helping me whenever I’m having difficulties with my grades.”

“Huh? Me?”

“Yes… the one I’ve always chatted with on the internet… it was you right? I know it was you… I did some research about your user name… all the searches point out to you!”

“Oh my God… So, What do you want from me?”

“Well… I was hospitalized for two weeks… remember the last time we chatted?”

“Yes of course… it was before you’ve been gone.”

“After that night I’ve realized something and decided to do a research about you… I was really urged to do this! And then when I finally got to see and know this person… it was you… it was you after all… Now I wished I could’ve known a little early…”

“… I… don’t… understand! What are you trying to say!?”

[Bell rings]

“I need to tell you something! Meet me at the library after class ok?” Fye asked.

“Uhh… I’ll try…”

The two went back to their classrooms… but while Rita was walking at the hallway, she saw Ma-roon waiting for her…

“Rita Yuu”

“Ma-roon?”

“Don’t worry I’ll give you his body after class.”

……………………….
“Ma-roon! WAIT! …What if I say that I don’t want to do this anymore?”

“I’m afraid that’s not possible”

“HUH? Why not? Let’s just forget about this!”

“I need your heart’s soul…”

“No Please No! Fye had already…”

While the two were talking, Mr.Yumagi noticed them outside and told them to go back to their respective classrooms.

[At class]

“Fye… so he knows me? Why? Why is it happening now? It’s too late! Why!?”

Rita’s mind was so full of confusion… and regrets…

“Rita are you alright?” asked Mari.

“Hey Mari… if ever I’ll forget how to love… please just tell Fye to find someone else…”

“What are you talking about?! I don’t understand! Stop saying that!” Mari insisted.

“I’m regretting all of this… I regret it…”

“Rita! What’s with you today!? “

“Mari… I… I’m really sorry… I’m a murderer…”

“STOP IT RITA!!! STOP IT!!!”

“Mari… I …I… summoned the cursed girl of love.”

“What!? … Why did you do such a thing?!”

“It’s because… Mari was… crying… I can’t take it… I’m really sorry… I never expected things would turn out like this…”

“Lily… will kill Shinn… because Lily is…”

“Don’t continue …I understand… you did this for me… I heard rumors about that cursed girl of love… She has no heart and will just kill and kill…”
“Mari… I’m really sorry! But please… just… tell Fye to forget about me… I know I can never love him no matter how much I do now… and how much I wanted to… when I lose my heart’s soul… Maybe even you… I can’t love…”

“I won’t let it come to that! I promise you Rita!”

[After Class]

(Library)

“Fye-kun”

“Rita! So you did come!”

“Fye I need to tell you something…”

“Me too Rita! I need to! Now! Before it’ll be too late!”

“So what is it Fye?”

“You see Rita ever since I met you… and chatted with you… I’ve always been cheerful …I’ve always wanted to chat with you everyday! Now that you’re standing here right in front of me… I want you to know that I… I… I’ve… always … love you…”

“Oh Fye… “

(The two hugs)

“Fye… I… I…”

[Meanwhile]

(At school Garden)

“Lily! I’m sorry I’m late! The basketball practice took longer than I expected.”

“It’s okay… I’m always willing to wait for you.”

“I really appreciate it Lily”

-Lily smiles-

“So… What is the thing you wanted to tell me?” Lily asked.

“You know I like you a lot, right?”

“Yes and you know that I feel the same way also!”

“Lily… my feelings are more than just like… I’m in love with you…”

“Shinn… I… I’m so delighted to hear that!”

“It’s true and I’m willing to prove it to you!”

“Prove?”

“Yes…”

Shinn looked into Lily’s beautiful eyes, the two stared at each other for a while… then suddenly Lily started to close her eyes… as she feels the lips of Shinn touching hers then she whispered.

“It’s time.”

As planned, Shinn died upon kissing Ma-roon it was like a poison… Shinn collapsed easily… this happened the same time Rita lost her heart’s soul.

“Fye… I… I… don’t have feelings for you!”

Rita after saying that, Ran away as fast as she could, she do not have any idea why she is hugging Fye, She got scared thinking of Fye as a pervert… While Fye on the other hand… was really shocked on what had happened.
